Up for auction is a pair of Williamsburg pewter candlesticks by Stieff Pewter. The style number is CW 32, as marked on the bottom of each stick. These handsome candlesticks are an impressive size, each weighing about 23 ounces and measuring 8 ¾ inches high and 6 ½ inches wide at the base. The pewter is bright, and the octagonal shape is based on a seventeenth century antique. These candlesticks are used, and as such, there are some scratches, small dents and a few spots that need polishing. Notably, the lip at the top of one candlestick appears to be bent up at one side a little. Overall, these defects do not detract significantly from the appearance of the candlesticks. They would make an attractive addition to any colonial, Georgian, or Williamsburg-style decor, or to a pewter collection. All sales are final, so please ask any questions before bidding.
