This is a quaint and curious Japanese picture postcard showing an assistant helping an elderly man walk up the ascemt to Mt. Hiei by pushing him with a T shaped stick in the small of his back. The caption under the picture is written in Japanese and English. It says, 'Going up the ascent of mt. Hiei'. This card is good for both the PICTURE POSTCARD collector as well as the collector of humerous and quaint images on picture postcards. Condition: This card is unused and in very good condition considering it was published in the 'teens to twenties of the last century and is about 80 to 90 years old. Please note, my postcards are very old and have been used and handled by various people. If you collect only absolutely mint postcards do not buy any from me. I do not know the current value of this card. I do know when I was actively dealing in picture postcards back in the 1970's and 1980's a light card like this would sell from $5 and up. I do not know what the current value of this unique, old picture postcard is so I will let the action of the auction determine its selling price.I ship from Connecticut. First class mail with tracking to anywhere in the USA will cost $2.25.Priority Mail with tracking to anywhere in the USA will cost $5.45.If insurance is wanted the cost is $1.70 for up to $50, First Class Mail (air mail) to CANADA will cost $2.00.First class International (air mail) to anywhere in the rest of this planet will cost $2.00. NOTE: The relative high cost of shipping is due to the tracking and the strong packaging used to insure the safety of the postcard during shipping. But I will combine more than one lot in a single shipping container providing the buyer's lots were all won within one week. Note to all buyers outside of the USA: 1) The value declared on the Customs form will be the winning bid amount and it will be rated as merchandise. This is required by US Federal Law. I am sorry but can not change this.2) The postage rates have changed. There is no surface mail, everything is sent via air. There are two airmail rates. First Class International is a slower air mail, delivery is supposed to take up to 10 days. Priority International is a faster air mail. Delivery is supposed to take less time but that depends on the country.
