Welcome! With a low opening bid and a very modest reserve: You are bidding on an “Exquisite Vintage Floral Pattern Cloisonné Ginger Jarâ€. I acquired this item at an Estate Sale and was advised that it had been in the family for at least 45 to 50 years and is of Chinese origin. This brass and enamel Ginger Jar stands 4 inches tall, is 4 inches in diameter and has a 1 7/8 inch base & mouth. The delicate cloisonné work is amazing. To me the floral pattern looks like orchids or cherry blossoms. To compliment the exquisite detail cloisonné work on the exterior of the jar, the inside is lined with glossy blue enamel. This item does not bear any identifying hallmarks or labels to indicate its maker. This vintage item is in amazing condition. I looked it over with a magnifying glass and found the enamel work to be free of any chips, cracks, scratches or repairs. I did find an area around the neck of the jar where the brass seams don't meet seamlessly. This is an anomaly I attribute to the manufacture process, not from any handling damage. I have included a close up photograph of the seams in my pictures. This item will ship USPSÃ’ Priority Insured from 78216.
