Description

Super rare item for M1911 pistol collector.    From the FIRST PRODUCTION run of the M1911 in 1912!    This is the Original COLT Factory MASTER DRAWING to make a Manufacturing GAGE for M1911 RECEIVER ..... the "THICKNESS OF SIDE FROM HAMMER CUT".    Dated Dec 1, 1911.   INK DRAFTING on manila paper.    Measures 5"x 8" (old size used at Colt), hand cut paper (thumbtack drafting mounting holes in corners).    Also has pencil notes, all markings as found.    Some old oil stain spots as shown.    Drawn by Harry Stevens (who later designed Colt "Stevens sight").    The actual steel gage was made in Tool Room TO THIS DRAWING!     AUTHENTIC.    From Colt Engineering Dept Archives, old collection of ex Colt gun designer.    EXCELLENT condition.    One of a kind M1911 FIRST PRODUCTION item from time period when INVENTOR JOHN M BROWNING was visiting Colt.
