There are 6 very rare and beautiful 4-layer chevrons, they were used in the West African Trade. According to the Book "The History of Beads Concise Edition, Lois Sherr Dubin" on the time chart these beads are from right around the 1750's. They have a clear center, then a white layer, then a brick red layer, then another white layer, and red,green, and blue outer stripes, one of the beads has a beveled edge. They are in excellent condition. Their measurements 3mm's long x 10mm's diameter, 5mm's long x 10mm's diameter, 5mm's long x 12mm's diameter, 4mm's long x 12mm's diameter, 8mm's long x 13mm's diameter and the last is 6mm's long x 14mm's diameter.
