You are bidding on a poster of a photograph taken at an NAACP Civil Rights Convention in 1947 in Cincinnati. Seated on the stage are (L-R) Col. Benj. Davis, Joe Louis, Thurgood Marshall, and Daisy Lampkin.. The Poster is signed by the photographer, Joseph Schwartz. A book of Mr. Schwartz's work was printed in 2000 entitled "Folk Photography" and contains nearly three hundred images he has made from the 1930's to the '70's. An exhibition of his work is currently touring the United States and is renowned for it's historical value, including multi-racial themes. A number of fine prints of Mr. Schwartz's work have recently been acquired by several museums including the Getty in Los Angeles. A very limited number of these posters were ever printed, and this copy is one of a very few he has signed for me to be sold. Mr. Schwartz is now 94 years old, and his work is very collectible. It is sure to gain considerably in value in the coming years as his work is rapidly gaining recognition. Buyer pays shipping charges of $8.50 including insurance. Payment may be made via Paypal, money order, Visa, MC, or Discover cards or simply fist-fulls of cash.
