This is a sewing tape measure shaped like an apple with a green leaf and brown stem. The leaf is the pull for the tape measure and the stem is the lock-release mechanism for the tape. It stands 2-1/3" tall and is about 1-1/2" at its widest. It is made of a hard, molded plastic (bakelite or catalin) with aluminum leaf and metal tape. It is marked on the bottom, United Device Corp. Great Neck, N.Y. Pat. Pending. It is in good condition...2 rough places where it looks like it rubbed against something. The tape pulls easily to 36" where it says "That's All!" I don't know how old it is but I think it dates from the 1950's or 60's. I bought it about 5 years ago from the estate of a seamstress. A nice item for someone's collection!
