Description

In 1879 Nasir al-Din Shah of Persia after a tour of Imperial Russia was so impressed by the Imperial Russian Cossacks that in 1882 he formed the Persian Cossack Brigade , dressing them in Cossack uniforms and arming them with the cossack shashqua or sabre. This one i have for sale is stamped with Farsi  numbers on the hilt pomel and scabbard drag ,there are also more farsi numbers on the blade and under the guard. the blade is mark free and solid with a very slight looseness to the hilt (minor movement) and a few minor nicks to the edge (old).Nice Brass and wooden handle .  The scabbard is solid and looks to have had a repaint at some stage but is straight and solid with very minor dents to the surface .Someones added a Russian St George Sword knot so ive left it on .This is 100% genuine sabre ( not one of those knockoffs coming out of china) in very good condition measuring 96cm all up and a start price off just 99c.On 06-Jul-08 at 22:42:40 AEST, seller added the following information:Actually found a photo of the Persian Cossack Brigade so im trying to download onto this site if it doesnt show and your interested please contact me and ill send through.
