We are offering an original Samuel F.B. Morse autograph (Morse, of course is best known for his important contributions to telegraphy) in a presentation frame with an early image of Morse and a presentation to Margaret and Herman Sokol. The Sokols were ,among their other achievements, very generous philanthropists who established institutions and chairs at various colleges and universities. Herman Sokol was one of the inventors of tetracycline as well as chairman of the board at Bristol Myers. AT NYU they supported " a wide range of initiatives including undergraduate scholarships, post doctoral fellowships, the Margaret and Herman Sokol Faculty Award in the Sciences and the Margaret and Herman Sokol Chair in Chemistry." We assume that this autograph was given to them by NYU in appreciation of their many contributions to that institution. Glass gone but o/w in vg condition.
