We are offering a nineteenth century convent-made paper reliquary containing a substantial 2nd class cloth relic of St Claude de la Colombiere, a Jesuit priest who knew St Margaret-Mary Alacoque well and did much to spread devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus. The relic consists of securely enveloped and sealed silk used to wrap the bones of the Saint, who died in the odour of sanctity on 15th February 1682 at the Jesuit house in Paray-le-Monial. This explanation is printed in French on the front of the paper envelope. On the back, the envelope is securely sealed with the official paper seal of the Jesuits of Paray-le-Monial, who originally issued it. (Please note the colour of the paper envelope may vary, but all of the description above remains the same).
