marciasite Store Scarce Antique Sterling Retractable Pocket Comb 1922 At auction is a unique and scarce item--an antique retractable pocket comb. The piece measures 4 3/8" long, 5/8" wide, when the comb is retracted and 1 1/8" wide when the comb is in place. It has a pattern of 3 horizontal bars with an oval monogram area in the center. The comb is monogrammed "H.M.J." in script. The back of the comb has horizontal lines. The top of the comb has a lever which moves the comb in or out. The piece is marked "Sterling," has the patent date of 1922, and the company initials, "C.Q. & R." It is in fine condition with no dents in the silver, the retractor works well and the catalin comb is undamaged. Interesting piece. Thanks for looking.
