This nice figurine comes from a local estate. In their home, they had only early figurines--no later ones. A few have Marblehead labels, while the majority have had the labels removed. Prescott began designing historical sea figures in 1949 and the Yankee Sea Captain was produced in 1949. This figurine has 1949 incised on its base along with P.W. Baston and Yankee Sea Captain. There is one tiny paint fleck on the edge of his captain's horn. It has no chips or cracks. It stands about 3 1/2 inches tall and has wonderful patina.
