This is a 1953 Singer Featherweight Sewing Machine 222K. The machine was manufactured in Scotland. The serial number is EJ267745. This machine was originally purchased in Italy. When brought to the US was changed to a 110 volts motor . The motor was not a Singer product. There is a hole on the right side where this machine was attached. This does not do away with it’s appearance or performance. Please look at the picture. When I purchased the machine I changed the motor to a 110 Singer brand motor. I consider the machine in great condition. There are some fine scratch/pin pricks on the work surface. The original shine is still there. The spool pin & the bobbin winder are solid. The gold leaf decals are intact. The hand wheel has a rub mark but I think still looks great. The total machine is 15.25 inches long when the extension is attached and down. It runs and sews forward & in reverse perfectly. The light works. The faceplate is in good condition. The throat plate has graduated measurements to help align material. The machine runs very smoothly and as you can see from the photos 4 extra attachments, manual, one needle, one bobbin, bobbin case and carrying case are included. The benefit of the 222K over the 221 is the option of the free arm plate allowing you to do cuffs, sleeves, hard to reach seaming etc. Has the removable bed extension converting machine into a Free-Arm for easier application. The second additional feature is the Feed-Dog Lowering Lever enabling Free-Motion Embroidery & Darning. The inside of the machine has gears, bobbin case, bobbin and belt. The 5 cushions look original so you may want to replace them. Included is the original 222K instruction manual in English and Italian are in used condition. The case is in good condition. The handle is in good condition. The latches and locks work well and the latches have strong springs. I do not have a key. I am not sure they ever had a key to them. There is an internal side tray inside the case. The Machine has been cleaned, serviced and lubricated. I feel the 222K machine is in good operating condition. If you are a quilter, buy one now. They are reliable, compact, lightweight and cute! I enjoy my machine very much. I take it with me on vacations, guild meetings and classes. PAYPAL ONLY!! Shipping is $45.00 insurance included. Insurance is required. US continental shipping only. Alaska and Hawaii will be higher shipping charge. Any questions, please ask before bidding.
