Old Solid Brass Knosos Bull Dagger Letter Opener Crete Greece NR This auction is for a souvenir of a very nice 1950's brass envelope opener from the Great Palace at Knosos, on the Island of Crete, Greece. The Bull of Knosos on the dagger style opener is representitive of the bull-leaping scenes depicted in acrobatics often associated with the late Minoan activity, thought to have been a key ritual in the religion of the Minoan civilization on "Bronze Age Crete". Opener is 6 7/8"" long, and weighs 2 ounces. The letter opener is in a good used condition, which should be expected from an old antique. I have taken plenty of pictures of this object to help you decide it's value. Sells as is, where it is. This is an absolute aution, no reserve, sells to the highest bidder.
