You are looking at a brand new 12 oz (0.35 liters) Tempered Plastic tumbler originally designed and manufactured by Starbucks Coffee Japan. This item came out just recently, mid-summer and is sold only in participating (DEBLI PROJECT Art Tour 2008) Starbucks shops in Japan. This tumbler commemorates the 2005 World Exposition (Expo) held in Aichi Prefecture of Japan (Mar 25 thru Sep 25); which was the first Expo of the 21st Century. Over 400 Ceramic Figures of Animals were presented in the Japan Exhibit, and when the Expo ended, the Ceramic Figures were sent to 196 Artists of different fields involved in the DEBLI PROJECT (a group of Japanese artists involved in artwork related the theme of "Re:cycle & Re:create") for rebirth into new life... the artwork of these artists are on display from July 1 to October 28; starting in Ginza (Tokyo) & Sapporo, working their way down to Sendai & Fukuoka, then to Kobe & Osaka, ending again in Ginza. The tumbler itself is based on a "Create-your-own" tumbler with a colorful and glittering light blue paper inserted into the tumbler, and is a limited edition (sold only in a few Starbucks shops around Japan). The year 2008 commemorates the 12th Anniversary of Starbucks Japan. The items are made in China under the supervision of Starbucks Coffee Company. A Brief History of Starbucks Coffee Japan...
