I am selling my Bill Dana Test Pilot of the X-15, YF-12, M2F1, M2F3, HL-10, X-24B autographed 4x6 photograph. He was a project pilot on the hypersonic X-15 research aircraft and flew the rocket-powered vehicle 16 times, reaching a top speed of 3,897 mph and a peak altitude of 307,000 feet (nearly 59 miles high). He was the pilot on the final (199th) flight of the 10-year program.Test pilots are aviators who work both for military organizations and (mostly aerospace) companies. Being a test pilot of military aircraft, in particular, is regarded as the most challenging and risky flying conducted in peacetime, and is therefore the pinnacle of military aviation. In the 1950’s, test pilots were being killed at the rate of about one a week. You will receive the same 4x6 photo that is pictured in the scan. If you have any questions feel free to e-mail me. S&H $2.50. I will reduce S&H if you win multiple auctions Powered by eBay Turbo Lister
