Description

I am sorry the picture does not do the carving justice. The measurements are:  5 1/2" long, 2 1/4" high, 1/2" thick. Bronze or Brass. This item is really confusing. It looks very, very old ,but it says it is a reproduction. Shows the Captain and 4 men in a rowboat. Four Crosses on front. On the back is:  From The Wild Goose Studios,  " THE BANTRY BOAT- The First Reproduction of a little known carving. A currach with a helmsman urging on four oarsmen as they strike heavenward. - The boat is vertical on the original pillar stone. -Amidst a sea of crosses. Perhaps commemorating St. Brendan, The Navigator, who in the 6th Century with his crew of 4 monks may have discovered  America, long before the Vikings and almost 1000 years before Columbus."   Replica from the Kilnaruane carved pillar stone at Bantry, cast by hand in our studio at Kinsale, Co. Cork, Ireland.   ref. 24B.............................Buyer pays  "ACTUAL" shipping of $3.15 First Class mail in the USA. Nothing added for Handling and packaging. Pay Pal and POSTAL Money Orders ONLY. Pay by PayPal and item goes out in next shipping and Feedback Posted soon as it's shipped. . Shipping can be combined in my auctions.
