Description

Attention Antique and Vintage Tube Radio Collectors!  I will be selling a large collection of mostly restored (some partially restored) tube radios during the next 1-2 years. These radios have been stored in an old "Antique Radio Museum" for the past several years.  They were originally restored by a man, now deceased, during the past few decades.  I am selling these for his widow.  These radios range from manufacturers from A-Z.  There are some very collectable and scarce ones so please continue to check back for new listings.  As far as shipping goes I will require insurance on all radios that sell for over $50.00, and it will be offered for all radios.  Since many of these are wood cases they will be double wrapped in bubble wrap and cushioned with styrofoam peanuts.  Some of these radios will be double boxed for safety.  Since I will be listing such a large number I realize that some buyers may want to make multiple purchases, and I will offer anyone that wants an opportunity to pay for their radios and I can store them for a few months until arrangements can be made to pick them up.  It is possible that we can make arrangements to meet half way for some delivery cost.  This radio is a Trav-ler cathedral style radio.  The sheet showing model number and tube placement is missing, so I don't know what model this radio is.  I checked the tubes and there are five tubes with the following numbers:  One Silvertone # 27; One Radiotron # 71A; and Three Silvertone # 01A   I hope this might help identify this radio model.  It operates with with AC or DC power and is BC broadcast.  It has a "thumb style" tuning dial with escutcheon, and a nice speaker grille with cutouts.  The on/off knob works fine, but the tuning knob does not work completely smoothly.  The case is a tombstone shape and is made of wood.  It does show some light wear in the finish and a few small chips in the wood, and a fairly large split in the veneer on the top of the radio (see photo) about 1 1/2" long by 1" wide. The chassis appears to be complete, but will need a good cleaning.  When I plugged the radio in all the tubes lit up, but I could not pick up any radio signals.  It is 14 1/2" wide, 16 1/2" tall (at the peak), and 8" deep.  It weighs 24 pounds.
