Awesome museum reproduction pin / brooch or pendant from the 1978/79 tour of " The Treasures of Tutankhamun ". New, never out of box ( I bought it for my mother at the Manhattan exhibit and she never wore it.. kept tucked away these last 30 years! Mint condition , with box and papers, bought at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New york City. Depicts " The Head of Hathor " molded directly from a piece in the Cairo Museum's collection. Hathor is a mother goddess, associated with love, fertility, sexuality, music, dance and alcohol. Can be worn as a pin, or there is a loop for wearing as a pendant on a chain. The back is stamped " c The Metropolitan Museum of Art ". The pictures do not do the pin justice... the gold is rich and looks like bullion, PURE gold , like the original would have been. Measures 1 3/8" tall. Buyer pays $4.25 shipping to most of the lower 48 states, a surcharge may apply to HI , AK and West Coast destinations. Insurance at $1.70 per $50 value is recommended, though not required. Should the buyer choose NOT to purchase insurance, the seller assumes no responsibilty for loss in transit. Seller will produce a copy of the post office receipt as proof of mailing *. Checks or money orders are expected within ten (10) days of auction end, or you may wish to make an immediate payment using PayPal. ( * In 14 years of eBay-ing, I have only had two packages get lost in the mail ... )
