YOU ARE BIDDING ON A RARE PIECE OF TEXAS CONIFER PETRIFIED WOOD 110 million years ago the State of Texas was a lush green tropical forest. There were huge Conifer Tree's all over the forest. These tree's existed at the same times the dinosaurs did. Well both are extinct today. This piece of Conifer petrified wood came from my own collection.I hunt it on our property,thats located in a little town in south central Texas. This piece is approximately 100 million years old. I say it's a rare piece because of it's shape. This piece has a high silica content.This is generally similar to agate in composition and appearance. There is also iron,and uranium content in this piece going by the colors of it. The colors in this piece of Conifer petrified wood are of red (when heated at 400 degrees),I wanted to test it.The other colors in it are brown,yellow,black (there is alot of black lines in it). The length is 8 1/4 " long,by 3 3/4" wide and 1 1/8" thick. This very detailed piece is awesome just the way it is. I haven't done any thing to it except clean and I heated it to show me what minerals might be in it. This piece weighs approximatly 3lbs.
