THANK YOU FOR VIEWING THIS AUCTION About me: Living in Florida, especially in the Tampa,St.Petersburg area has given me great opportunities to treasure hunt.I go to estate sales, garage sales, antique malls and auction houses. As with every Sunday count on me being at the flea market by 6:30 am.I have done this for over 20 years now.I have hoarded to where I can not hoard no more. So,I am offering for the first time these collector items on ebay. I hope you enjoy bidding on and looking at the things I have collected over the years. Good Luck and Happy Bidding... Up for Auction here is: A U.S.Forage Cap button found at Fort Brooke circa 1820's -1830's.I found this early U.S.one piece eagle forage cap button metal detecting in downtown Tampa at the former site of Fort Brooke.Fort Brooke was exant from 1824-1880.Fort Brooke was at that time the largest military fort in the United States. The first in a series of forts built during the Seminole Indian Wars. This early one piece U.S.forage cap button has a nice even surface patination. There is some light surface oxidation. This button has not been cleaned and is exactly as found. The button has very fine details. The shank on this early Fort Brooke button still remains intact.A nice example of this highly sought after U.S.forage cap button excavated from historic Fort Brooke. ****Please see my other auctions for more artifacts, coins, antiques, collectables and other items of interest.
