+454g 1lb Rough Amber from East Kalimantan, Borneo. (Sarawak) This material is the Famous Sarawak Amber of Borneo. Recovered by myself from Lignite deposits. These are large peices ranging from 50mm to 150mm thats nearly 6 inches!! When was the last time you saw a peice of Amber that big? I have approx 50lb of material available. The picture is of a small amount of this material. Mainly gemmy but as this really is direct from the mine and has not been examined or sorted in any way there are occasional small peices of Lignite on some of the peices. To ease everybody minds I will send over the specified amount though the lignite itself in matrix with the amber would be of interest to the Palynologist. Picture is of dry material. Also included with every order is a small sample of the Lignite matrix from which this Amber is found. Suitable for anybody with an interest in Palynology & Petrology. Polishing Amber: I find it best to use wet and dry paper for all of the grade( available from most DIY or car part shops), starting of obviously with the roughest down to the smoothest and finishing of with cerium oxide polish or beleive it or not a cheap brand of tooth paste will do the same job as it is also a mild abrasive!!!!!!!!!!!! Postage is from the UK by Royal Mail Airmail and takes approx 1 week to USA / Europe / Rest of World Images: Image is of the actual material in this listing and shows approx 1500g of Amber. The images have not been enhanced in any way. As such it dosent really do justice to the actual material. Me not being much of a photographer probably dosent help!! Thanks for looking. .
