You are bidding on a 8 x 10 colour photograph of the USS Kearsarge LHD 3 , the third ship of a class of Wasp Class Amphibious Assault Ships, which has served in the United States Navy since 1993. The Kearsarge, was laid down at the Ingalls Shipbuilding yards on February 6, 1990 5 . She was launched presided over by the then Chairman of the Joint Chiefs, General Collin Powell on March 26, 1992 and commissioned into the United States Navy on October 23, 1993. During the Bosnian Crisis she rescued Captain Scott O’Grady from Serb controlled territory in Bosnia. She continues to serve the Amphibious needs of the Atlantic Fleet from her home port in Norfolk, Virginia. Photograph one is circa 2003 colour photograph and shows an overhead overall starboard bow view. Photograph two is an 8 x 10 colour statistics sheet showing the ships crest, general characteristics, motto, callsign, trivia, and the ensign she proudly flies. The photograph is an original modification of an existing photograph.
