Description

This Vintage Cashier Mechanical Device is for dispensing coin change.  These types of coin changers were used mainly in banking facilities beginning in the 60's.   This changer has coin columns on the front that hold two rows of pennies and one row of nickels, dimes, quarters, and 50 cent pieces.  The cashier manually pushed the lever down in front of the column she needed and the coin dispensed from beneath.   On top of the Coin Changer there is a counter plate which holds a reserve of the coin assortments.  Using quarters as an example, the cashier would simply have to fill the slot on the plate for quarters and she knew she had the value of $12.00 worth without having to count each coin individually.   The coins would be transferred as needed to refill each column again.   I find no maker, just numbers on the side embedded 77-103 and a tag of the local bank it belonged to.  There is a date of 1989 showing the bank closure days for the holidays that year.  This Coin Changer Dispenser measures 6” tall, 11½” wide and is 10½” deep.  This would be a great collectible for any Coin Collecter.      Somewhere inside our grown-up selves, there are childhood pleasures that never fade with time.  Collections reveal stories and reconnect us to experiences we’ve had and continue to have in our lives.  We hope you will find something in our Attic Antiks Store Collection that will reflect what you enjoy and spark a connection to your past!  Prepare to be inspired!   Thanks for the Visit !!
