Description

Victorian Gift Book, c. 1900 - Scenic Chromlithographs The title of this 3 5/8" by 4 3/8" booklet is "Tuesday - Walk In Love", written by Lucy A. Bennett, illustrated by F. Corbyn Price, and published by Castell Brothers. No publication date is noted, but it was probably printed in about 1895-1905. The covers are made to look like an actual book, with a chromolithograph on the front of a path at sunset. Inside are 8 pages with a poem about appreciating life while understanding that death is inevitable. There are attractive brown illustrations of flowers on the text pages, plus two chromos - a curved road through a village, and some thatched-roof cottages. I believe this may have been part of a set of 7 booklets, one for each day of the week. (Please see "Condition", below, and be sure to view the pictures.)CONDITION: One chromolithograph was at one time stuck lightly to the opposite page, so there is a small white spot on the illustration and some smudges on the text. Binding string is broken in several places. No writing or tears, no missing pages, no odor. TERMS: We accept money orders and personal checks only (sorry, no PAYPAL at this time), and payment is expected within 10 days of auction ending date. SHIPPING: High bidder to pay $1.75 for First Class mail. Please feel free to e-mail us with any questions (we respond promptly), and thank you for your interest.
