Description

I thank you for stopping to take a closer look, with consideration to bid. I have a beautiful, 5 piece, lids are not considered as a piece, set of French Ivory, Celluloid, that was purchased at an estate sale. There is a hat pin holder, a jewel box with padded stick or straight pin cushion, a hair receiver, a powder box, and a vanity mirror with an easel back. Now the measurements. The hat pin holder is 5 3/4 inches high. The hair receiver is 2 1/4 inches high and 4 1/2 inches in diameter. The powder box is 3 inches high, and 4 1/2 inches in diameter. It has a blue monogram on the top. The jewel box is 2 1/2 inches high, and the base is 4 1/2 at the widest points. I think this is a jewel box. It is lined inside with mauve velvet. And there are signs in the cushion top of pin holes. The lid fits nice and tight, and it has a ribbon tab for easy lift-off. The mirror is 5 1/8 inch in diameter. The easel back can be hand held, or set on the dresser. The mirror, the hair receiver, and the hat pin holder do not have names on the bottom. The jewel box/pin cushion says "IVORY"  "DuBARRY"   then  Pyralyn, (or Lyralyn). The powder box says, what I think is, IVOROYD. There is minor vintage wear, and some spots of discoloration. Of course, this would be expected. This set may be over 75 years old. There is one tiny chip in the hole of the hair receiver. The handle on the mirror has darkened with time. An easy fix, but I like it that way, it is vintage, and it gives a great contrast. There is some age showing in the reflecting material of the mirror. This too, is not a hindrance to the appearance. Where do you find a set like this any more? Just the jewel box/ pin cushion and the hat pin holder are worth the asking price. Don't be shut out on this one. See how nice it looks on the dresser? These items are clean, but you may want to give them a once over with mild soap. Please note, when listing an item, I state, they are not cleaned.  Some may prefer to leave the piece as is. Or, clean an item in their own way, or method. I thank you again for stopping to take a closer look.  You may bid with confidence. When an item is purchased at an estate sale, 99% of the time the buyer knows nothing about the piece, unless you have a reputable auctioneer. Even at best, most of the time the auctioneer can only tell you what he sees. Cracks, chips, or what is written on the piece. This information is nice to know during bidding, but it would be the same information I would tell you. Just what I see, as the auctioneer does. The decision to bid is yours. I realize you can't touch a piece, or take a closer look, as I can at an estate sale. I take pictures, and give a description. If there is not enough information in what I show in a listing, please ask questions. I tell you this to give you, the potential buyer, a better understanding of my estate sale items.   We take pride in always keeping customer service our top priority. Questions, please ask before the final day of bid. I am happy to answer any question, as there may be an important detail I missed. I list new items each day, and do multiple ships with discounts, so take some time and check out my other items. I would be glad to have you add me to your favorites list. Or, if time allows, stop into my store, SweetHeart's Content and sign up for my newsletter. You will receive advance notice of sale items, and an even greater discount on multiple ships. Thank you for looking. I try the best to accurately describe each item. I may however, miss a detail. I do not deliberately omit flaws. All items are reinspected prior to shipping. Please read the description carefully prior to making your bid. Also, please read My Policy. I do not make refunds unless the item is misrepresented. And no refunds on shipping. I do try and keep my shipping cost at a minimum. I invest money in packaging, bubble wrap, labeling, and tape. I ship First Class, on most items, not Parcel Post (unless stated) that can take longer for your item to arrive. All this to ensure that your package arrives quickly, and in good condition. Please consider this when viewing my shipping charges. My policy: Shipping, handling, and packaging: I only accept pay pal, or postal money orders. Please do not ask for another pay method. International shipping is  through  pay pal ONLY. I expect payment within 7 days of sending your invoice. If this is not possible, contact me. If paying with a Money Order, you must contact me immediately, and let me know of your intentions. I will at that time, send you my mailing address. I will, in most cases, ship your item within 2  days of  receiving your payment. If insurance is not purchased, I will not be responsible for lost or damaged items in shipment. You may expect delivery within 5 days (Cont. U.S.)  At this time I would like to have feed back, I will post feed back for you when I receive from you. I will then  be assured you are satisfied with your item.  All items have a tracker to protect both parties. The fee for tracking is included in packaging. Multiple shipments must end within 5 days of each other. I take pride in the items I offer for bid, and try to describe them the best I can. I take great care to package your item to arrive to you the way it left me. I am not responsible for delays due to the Post Office, or Customs. Thanks for looking, and reading, I appreciate your time.
