This is a Huge, Solid Crystal bowl - ashtray. Probably commissioned as a commemorative piece or a reward of some kind,reference the Bell Telephone Co., Bell System.The etched designs around the circumference of this includes all kinds of listening/hearing device and telephones beginning with the early invention date of 1816.For instance, the candlestick phone - 1897, the rotary phone of 1930, the wall mounted telephone - 1956, the Princess phone -1959, and the push-button phone - 1964. The latest date here is 1965.Between every phone illustration with its' date in the crystal, is a 'bell' - the logo for Bell Telephone.This crystal is THICK!
