GE Pancake Fan Description: For sale is an early GE Pancake with a fancy and decorative ribbed base. The engraving on the brass metal label is a little difficult to read, but I believe it says the following: ALTERNATING FAN MOTOR TYPE AD FORM A VOLTS 100/108 CYCLES 60 NO 84597 SPEC 17230 PAT MAY 17 87 MAR 19 89 JULY 30 89 MAY 27 90 JULY 5 1900 GENERAL ELECTRIC COMPANY USA Condition: This fan is going to need restoration. As you can tell from the pictures, it has lost a lot of its paint ,and it does have rust. The brass blades appear to be in good condition with no nicks ( I would appreciate help on the best method to remove blades). The brass cage (See picture), on the other hand, is going to need some work. It has broken in five spots and will need soldering. The motor will need to be gone through and tested to see if it works. Shipping: If someone local wins the fan, they can, if they wish, set up a time to meet me at the Vanilla Bean. Otherwise, shipping will be $30 for US residents.
