The items for auction are two vintage, hand-carved and hand-painted wooden figures made in Germany. The first little man wearing his black top hat and his smile was a wooden matchsafe measuring 6" tall (from the bottom of the barrel to the top of his hat) and 6" across from his arm to the tip of his tails. The man lifts up from leaning on the barrel and the matches go into the barrel. There once was a nail or screw under the arm of the man which is no longer there, but the top of the man sits firmly on the barrel so it works just as well. The bottle stopper is also a wooden, hand-carved man hailing from Germany, equipped with top hat, and sitting on a cork. The cork measures 4" from its tip to the top of its hat.
