A rare find! A WORKING Kenmore Commander vacuum from the early 1940's. This model was produced from about 1939 to 1954. This particular unit is one of the earlier canister types - the later models were upright. 115 volt 6 amp motor inside the rocketship-shaped housing. 26.5 foot heavy duty rubber insulated cord. Cloth bag and foam motor guard are in great shape. Heavy duty steel construction, wheels in good condition, 90+ percent of original finish with only the scuffs and scratches you would expect from your great grandmother's vacuum. The only real flaw is a longitudinal crack in the heavy bakelite handle which does not in any way impair the structural strength of the unit Comes with the lock-in 8 foot swivel hose with attached 30 inch steel and aluminum wand. Sorry, no other attachments available, but its a standard size and many modern units will fit. This baby was built to last and, with the hose, weighs in at nearly 20 pounds.
