These kitchen scales were in the kitchen of my late uncle's house in Texas. I have tried them out and they do still work , but it appears that they have to be readjusted back to 0 after you weigh something. These scales weigh up to 25 pounds. On the front of them it says: Universal Household Scale by Landers, Frary, and Clark; New Britain, Conn. It also says Made in the USA and Not legal to use in trade. Surprisingly, it also says Pat'd April 16, 07. I had to look really hard and then realized that it meant 1907 since the scales were there in 2006 when we first went to check on my aunt and uncle. Therefore, these are definitely "vintage"!!! There is no guarantee on these scales, but if you are a collector they should make a nice addition to yours. The scales do have a few scuff marks on them, as well as quite a bit of rust on the sides. There is also a bit of rust on the bottom of the face but all writing on the face is easily readable.
