Up for auction is a vintage wooden sewing box. It was made in Poland and stamped Poland on the bottom. It is in good quality and in excellent shape for a vintage item. There is no know damage and there have been no repairs that I can tell. Constructed of solid wood with precision dovetailed joinery.This box definatly has plenty of room for all your sewing notions. It has 4 legs and a carrying handle. There are 3 tiers which fold-out to reveal 8 separate compartments, making it easy to keep everything organized. Measures 17" X 9" X 18" tall, including the handle. When fully opened it expands to 32 1/2" long. When I received this sewing box it had all the notions you see but no buttons. So I have added some of the many bakelite and vintage plastics I have to it, they are worth around $30/$50 by themselves. It just didn't seem full without them.So....This box comes with a load of old buttons, zippers, hook and eyes, snaps,crotchet hooks and knitting needles, knife, clothes chalk, erasers, cutters, and many tools that are strangers to me, I am afraid to admit. Lots of rick rack, bias and threads of several colors on old short spools. One unopened package of metalic thread. A wonderful treasure chest for the talented crafter and sewer. Please ask for a shipping quote if you are a serious buyer. It can be as much as $40.00 to ship to some states so please ask. International shipping is even higher. Please ask for quote.
