THIS IS A VINTAGE SILK SCARF SHOWING LAS VEGAS CASINO CENTER IN THE 1950's. DEPICTED IS THE GOLDEN NUGGET WHICH HOUSES THE WORLD'S LARGEST GOLD NUGGET ON DISPLAY (THE "HAND OF FAITH", WEIGHING 27.2 KILOGRAMS) ALSO FEATURED ON THE SCARF ARE TWELVE RESORT CASINOS AND HOTELS WHICH MADE UP THE EARLY LAS VEGAS STRIP. THE LAST FRONTIER, (1942) REOPENED AS THE NEW FRONTIER, CLOSED IN 2007. THE FLAMINGO WAS OWNED AND OPENED BY BUGSY SIEGEL IN 1946. THE THUNDERBIRD (1948-1992) WAS WHERE JUDY GARLAND PERFORMED HER LAST VEGAS SHOW. THE DESERT INN (1950-2000) WAS THE FIFTH RESORT OPENED ON THE STRIP, AND IS FAMOUS FOR BEING THE LAS VEGAS HOME TO HOWARD HUGHES. HUGHES CHECKED IN FOR A TEN DAY STAY, WAS ASKED TO LEAVE TO MAKE ROOM FOR HIGH-ROLLERS, SO HE BOUGHT THE PLACE INSTEAD. THERE ARE MANY MORE SHOWN, INCLUDING THE SANDS, A FAVORITE OF THE RAT PACK, THE TROPICANA WHERE MANY OF ELVIS' "VIVA LAS VEGAS" SCENES WERE FILMED, THE DUNES, STARDUST, SHOWBOAT, SAHARA, HACIENDA, AND THE RIVIERA. THE SILK IS IN GOOD CONDITION FOR IT'S AGE. THERE IS SOME LIGHT STAINING NEAR THE CENTER (PICTURED) AND ON ONE EDGE. THERE ARE NO TEARS.
