This is an old Stanley Bailey No. 27 1/2 transition plane. Engraved on the front is: "BAILEY" "STANLEY RULE & LEVEL CO." "No. 27 1/2." Engraved on the blade is: "STANLEY" "PAT. APR. 19 02.....??"...the patent date is hard to read, so may not be correct...that is my best guess. Engraved on the lever is "STANLEY." Embossed on the back of the lever cap is "2 1/4." It is 15" long x 3" wide x 1 5/8" tall body x about 6" tall overall. The rear tote is broken into two pieces. The knob is cracked, but intact. The finish is worn numerous areas on the steel. The body has a few age cracks, but is intact and solid. Please email any questions or requests for additional pictures. I have cleaned it up a bit, but it could probably use a bit more.
