Here are all the films that make up this historical collection: Telephone and Telegraph (1946) Demonstrates how working in the telephone industry is very similar to working in the telegraph industry and how tepegraph personnel should consider a career in the telephone industry. It shows the history and development of the telegraph. It includes a variety of shots showing how telegraph was a driving force for the expansion of the United States and how it played a key role in growing the financial markets, It also includes a montage of new technologies that are coming on board - like fax transmission and a mobile reception center. Producer: Transfilm Audio/Visual: Sound, Black & White Run time: 19:30 Communication: A Film Lesson in General Science / Development of Communication (1927) This film is a nice snapshot of the communication technologies that were available in the 1920s. It includes how the telegraph, telephone and radio works and has great shots of this vintage equipment and an excellent presentation of how this technology operates. Producer: Unknown Audio/Visual: Silent, Black & White Run time: 13:04 Big Da-Dit-Da Class Graduated At New Naval Radio School, 1941/03/06 Join the U.S. Navy graduating class at Noroton, CT where several hundred enlisted men graduate from ther radio engineering course. It shows them learning how to operate radio and learn morse code including scenes where they are learning various morse code sequences by rote verbal practice. Production Company: Universal Studios Audio/Visual: sound, Black & White When You Know (1936) This film is an educational film for Army Air Force cadets where they are being shown how flying is very similar to driving and the practices that you would follow to drive safely strongly parallel the steps to take to fly dafely. It also shows the examinations and trainings they go through to become a pilot - including learning Morse Code and how to operates all the parts of the airplane.
