Description

Wonderful and interesting thread / needle roll which closes by rolling the piece from the bottom to the top. These rolls were called "Husewif" many years ago, and were rolled and placed in the lady’s larger pocket. This neat holder measures 19" in length and is 4 ½" in width. The interior has 7 felt pinked semicircles (at the bottom of this piece) that are for needle storage (some needles are still stored there). Also, there are 7 individual "pockets" for threads- each of a different color and type of material- they feel to be mostly silks and perhaps a taffeta also. There is a velvet area at the top. Hand stitched herringbone stitching decorates the top of each pocket. The reverse of this piece is a light brown fabric, and a cranberry binding is handstitched around the outer edge of the entire piece. Condition: very good with a slight amount of soiling from use around the outer edge. One pocket shows an area where the fabric has 2 little splits probably due to the age of the fabric. Please see my other Ebay listings for more interesting needlework items. We do our best to accurately describe each item and to provide photos, and we have had excellent customer satisfaction. If you have questions or need more detailed photos, email us. Terms: Paypal, Money order or check (allow clearing). Buyer to pay $2.00 for first class mail in a bubble envelope. If the selling price exceeds $15.00, please add an additional $1.70 for insurance. If you buy more than one item, I will attempt to combine them into a single package to save on shipping costs. Sorry, I am not willing to ship this item internationally unless contacted in advance by anyone wishing to bid from outside of the U.S. Payment is expected within 7 days unless prior arrangements are made.
