This auction is for a small, vintage, child size, woven sewing basket made in Japan. This estate sale item is in excellent used condition. It is 9 1/2" x 6 1/2" x 4 3/4" tall not including the handle. Inside dimensions are 8 1/2" x 5 3/8" x 3" deep. There are some stain spots on the lining that might come out. The tuffed pincushion in the lid shows pin holes. The cord lid braces, hinges, latch, and handle are all tight and in excellent working condition. It has 4 ball feet on the bottom. This darling little basket would be perfect for a child. I believe it is never too early to teach a child the joys of sewing. I have stocked it with a few small items. Included are: 5 new spools of No 50 polyester thread, 35 yards each, made in USA. White, black, gray, yellow, and pink. 2 new, small bags of craft or sewing buttons, made in Taiwan. 6 1/8" long stainless steel scissors, made in China, blunt point. 3 1/8" long red plastic seam ripper. Package assorted needles, made in China. 60" vinyl tape measure, Butterfly, made in Japan. Yellow plastic thimble, size 8. Tiny metal thimble 1/2"high x 1/2" diameter. It is dented but may still be useable. So cute! Sewing gauge, Sears Kenmore Sewing Machines. Straight pins with colored heads in Celestial Seasoning Sleepytime Herb Tea tin. Shipping weight is about 2 pounds. A small $1.00 handling fee is included in the shippig cost. Insurance is optional but recommended. I will not be responsible for items after they are mailed.
