Description

I have here three items of what I think are a mixture of silver plate and silver.  I will describe them as best I can (I am not an expert and am only going by research done on the internet).  Please also see the photos as they are as much part of the description as this test.   Small spoon (top of photo 1) One small spoon, probably for coffee I would think.  This item, as far as I can tell is silver.  It has maker’s mark D & S (Duncan & Scobbie – Glasgow?), the crown mark (Sheffield?), the lion then a small ‘t’ (1918 – 1943?).  It measures approximately 12cm in length.   Caddy spoon (middle of photo 1) One small spoon, that I think is a caddy spoon.  I think this is silver plated, but really have no idea.  It has a fluted bowl and the spoon measures approximately 9cm in length.  The marks are JR & S then a crown then the letters BP.  This may be John Round of Sheffield.   Sugar tongs (bottom of photo 1) One set of sugar tongs that I think is silver plated.  Again, I really don’t know.  They have a marking in a shield (see photo) then a round mark like a set of dots, then what is probably a maker’s mark of D & A.  I think this is likely to have been made by Birmingham makers Daniel & Arter.  The tongs have a nice pattern on the outside (both sides).    Please check out my other items!   This item comes from a smoke-free, but not pet free, home   I am happy to combine postage on multiple items – if you win more than one, please wait for an amended invoice as I base my postage costs on weight and size, or contact me prior to bidding for costs of multiple items.   Non-UK bidders please note that postage will be via air mail (no surface option) – payment should be by Paypal only in GB Sterling.   If you have any questions regarding this item please e-mail me and I will do my best to help with any further description you require.     The Boring Small Print!! Payment ·         Payment or notification thereof must be received within 3 days of auction ending. ·         I prefer Paypal as it is quick, easy & secure, but, I will also accept personal cheques and Postal Orders.  Please do NOT consider sending cash in the post as this is very unsafe. Non-UK buyers should only pay via Paypal in GB Sterling please. ·         Please note, if paying by cheque it will take longer to receive the item and items will not be sent until payment has cleared. Please write the item number on the back of any cheques or send details of item with payment.  It is also helpful to confirm your name and address if paying by cheque/Postal Order. ·         I will also accept e-cheques, but these seem to take around three weeks to clear so if you want your item quickly, this is not a good method of payment. ·         Remember, the sooner you pay, the sooner you will receive your item(s)! ·         Please contact me as soon as possible if there are any problems. Postage & Packing ·         Postage costs are payable by the buyer in addition to the selling price of the item, which includes all the costs associated with that such as packaging, address labels, sticky tape etc.  However, my postage costs are always reasonable. ·         If I have something suitable that I can recycle to package the item then I will use it as this keeps costs to a minimum.  Items will always be packaged to the best of my ability, so that it reaches you in the condition it left me. ·         Postage costs from my other items can be combined if they can be sent together – but please ask before payment.  I will then recalculate the costs and send an amended invoice as I base my postage on weight and size. ·         I usually send items by second class Recorded Delivery, but will also use first class standard post or parcel service for heavier items to keep costs to a minimum.  Please note that it can take three days for items to reach their destination – it actually took 17 days for one such item – so once an item is posted I am not responsible for the length of time Royal Mail may take to deliver it. Returns ·         Generally, returns will NOT be accepted.  ·         If there are any problems or queries, please contact me so that any difficulties can be resolved in a friendly and reasonable manner.
