These have a cute little blond haired Dutch Boy doing their daily chores on them. There is a comical motif on each towel. Monday the Dutch Boy carries a pie over his head as a Billy Goat prepares to butt him from behind. Tuesday his mother irons his clothes while he stands with a barrel around his body. Wednesday he is fishing, but the hook at the end of his line is caught in the grass at his feet. Thursday he sweeps the dirt under the rug. The other towels are just as cute. The embroidery is all done in a variety of colors. These towels were made years ago - probably in the 30s or 40s, were used very little if any, and are in very good condition. Someone put them in her hope chest and never took them back out and used them again. I have three more sets that she made and never used. These towels were made on heavy white cotton feed sack fabric. The stitching is very carefully and neatly completed. This is very nice embroidery stitching! Each towel has a little different design on it. These are just darling. The day of the week is stitched in bright red at the bottom of each motife. These towels are in very good condition. These are made of feedsacks and have not yellowed. These towels are clean and fresh, ready to use or display. I found a spot on the Sunday towel edge as shown in photos. I did not notice spots on any of the other towels. I do not see any holes or tears on these cute towels. The spot might lighten or come out in the wash. I did lightly hand wash and press, but did not bleach or spot treat. These are no longer perfect, but still very very nice.These towels measure aprox. 34" by 35 1/2". These are very nice towels.
