Vintage Yellow+Blue "1 D" 1945 Souvenir Felt Varsity Number, School Unknown Description A vintage wool felt varsity number for an unknown high school, blue, red, and green wool felt sewn onto yellow wool felt background, 11.5-Inches (29cm) long, 4.5-Inches (11.5cm) wide, blue D over red diamond and green four-leaf clover, at center with 45 at top and blue chevron below, Eugene Riggs, presumably wearer's name sewn in red thread at base of number 1, high school unknown could be from Western Kansas, Kentucky or elsewhere, item was recovered along with a collection of more than 60 wool felt pennants from an estate sale in the Washington, DC metro area in the last couple of months, in the same lot there was a wool felt pennant depicting a puppy dog that simply said WESTERN and it this armband might be from the same place, Worn in several areas, otherwise good to very good condition, sturdily sewn together.
