You are bidding on a W.D. Suggs Butter Churn Made in Smithville, Mississippi. This is a real find for any collector. My Father purchased it New in 1943 in Memphis from a peddler and Dad thinks he paid .65cents for it. The Suggs operation in 1943 was a small but well-equipped pottery with a brick clay bin or pit, pugmill, motor-powered throwing wheel, and kiln with a capacity of a few hundred gallons. The ware was sold locally through peddling and there are only a few left in circulation If you need me to send more pictures or if you have any questions, let me know This churn weighs 13 1/2 lbs and I would recommend insurance!!
