You're bidding on a very rare (in any condition) WAMPUM coffee tin, with beautiful graphics. The central figure is an Indian maiden wearing a necklace of animal teeth, with bear claws. She is partially undraped, and in her hands is a long strip of leather or cloth with beadwork. The coffee was made by Stone-Ordean-Wells Company, Duluth, Minn. The can is about 9 1/2" tall and about 5 1/2" in diameter. there is wear (one side is nicer for display; the other has some missing paint near the girl's neck area). No rust, except on the bottom of the tin, where corrosion can be seen. I can't remove the slide top of the can. I see two very shallow dents at the very bottom of the can which can be felt more than seen. I'm no expert on these. I'll tell you what I know and give my assessment as to condition, bearing in mind that most tins are old and were used. I have not cleaned this up; it is in as-found condition. I believe it will brighten up even more with whatever collectors use to clean their tins. Thanks for looking. Any questions? email me!
