WORLD WAR I WAR FILM MOVIE POSTER TANK WARFAREHere is an unusual piece of World War 1 memorabilia. A new, high quality reproduction, print of a World War 1 war film, “Over There†Cantonment. (Cantonment means: A town or village, or part of a town or village, assigned to a body of troops for quarters; temporary shelter or place of rest for an army; quarters.) Even though the film industry was still in its infancy in 1917, they rallied to join in the effort to keep public support and morale at high level. We do not know if the film survived but this brilliantly colored poster did. It features a tank coming over the top of a bunker. The text reads: See real warfare - "over there" cantonment - made possible by blood-not money 5th Regiment Armory, Baltimore - tickets for sale here. Lloyd Harrison was the artist. H Gamse & Brothers Lithograph, Baltimore, Maryland did the original print from which this print is made. This is a great example of World War 1 poster copy and one that every collector of war memorabilia will want to own. This print is on a quality 100# high glossy text paper. The poster measures 10.5†(w) X 15 (h). It has a small border to allow for framing. This is perfect for a standard 16†x 20†frame, a manageable size for a variety of decorating purposes.
