WWI WW1 POSTER SYRIA GREECE PERSIA ARMENIA The2FunAdGuyz offer a great new, high-quality reproduction, print of an incredible 1917 World War I era public service poster by W. B. King. The poster was part of a fund raising effort to help people who had suffered as The Ottoman Empire collapsed. Known as the “Campaign for $30,000,000.00†it was run by the American Committee For Relief In the Near East. The major beneficiaries were to be citizens of Armenia, Greece, Syria and Persia, all of whom had suffered as the control of the Ottomans disintegrated. The title reads: “LEST THEY PERISHâ€. A mother, carrying a child on her back and both in regional dress, are shown amidst bombed out and burned buildings. Cornwell Graphic Companies, New York, did the original lithograph, on which this print is based. W. B. King, a well-known illustrator, did this poster. His signature appears lower left corner of the illustration. This print is on a high-quality 100# glossy text paper. The actual image measures 10.5†(w) X 16.5†(h). The paper is 11†(w) x 17†(h). Therefore, it has a small border to allow for framing. When matted, this size is perfect for a standard 16†x 20†frame, a manageable size for a variety of decorating purposes.
