WORLD WAR I POSTER POLISH ARMY IN FRANCE BENDAUp for sale is a new print of a World War I poster in Polish but with an English translation below it. The poster was designed in 1917 to encourage English-speaking Polish to join the Polish Army since America had not yet entered the war. This poster emphasizes the contribution of the Polish Army in France. A Polish soldier is shown in a line with other soldiers charging forward with their bayonets fixed. A Polish flag is shown over the soldier’s shoulder. The text is in both Polish and English and reads: “Polish Army in France!†Below the text and illustration is a blank space where the local recruiting station could be affixed by hand. W. T. Benda, who was among the most popular illustrators of this era, did the artwork. This is a tremendous poster and will delight any person of Polish-American ancestry or those looking for unusual aspects of the First World War. This print is on a quality 100# high glossy text paper. The poster measures 10.5†(w) X 14†(h). It has a small border to allow for framing.
