Up for auction today is a beautiful original World War I enlisted man's M1917 26th division wool tunic . The tunic has a block "US" disk and a musician's harp insignia (not a disk). It also has a beautiful 26th division patch, one discharge stripe, two overseas stripes, a bullion pfc patch on the right arm, along with a wound stripe. There is no identification of the veteran, but a wounded musician should be easily narrowed down. I have not attempted to research this tunic, but it would be a interesting little project. As far as size, it is small, as most WWI uniforms go....about a size 36-8. Condition of the tunic is good-excellent, as all buttons are present. The only issue with this tunic is a bit of moth damage above the division patch (about the size of a pencil eraser) and a spot on the right side of the collar above the US disk. There are a few scattered pin-head sized spots here and there, but it displays very nicely. This item and all insignia on it is guaranteed 100% original in every way, and is not a collector assembled piece. This is an excellent example of a wool uniform worn by a overseas veteran of the Great War and would make a fine addition to any military collection. Payment via paypal is preferred, but I will take a personal check or money order, but understand the payment made by check will have to be cleared before shipment. Shipment will be via USPS priority mail at a cost of $10. I do not rip people off with inflated shipping costs. I estimate the actual cost as close as I can. If insurance is desired, please let me know in order to adjust the cost. I will ship overseas, with a higher shipping rate of course, and payment must be made via paypal on overseas transactions. Uniform is "as is" and no refunds will be given unless I have made a serious mistake/omission from the description. Check out my other auctions, as I am in the process of thinning out my WWI collection! Thank you for looking. Have a great day!
