Description

"England expects every man...." Wade for Pusser's Rum Co of the British Virgin Islands, 1 litre ceramic ship's decanter. The decanter is a stunning commemorative of the bi-centenary of the Battle of Trafalgar and has extensive decoration pertinent to the battle.  Shaped in the classic ship's decanter style it has a Navy blue stopper and neck, to the top of the stopper there is a cartouche of HMS Victory bearing the legend "HMS Victory Trafalgar 1805". Below the neck line is a wreath of signal flags spelling out Nelson's immortal message to the fleet on the eve of the battle. The body of the decanter is further decorated with four floral swagged cartouches with depictions of Britannia, a portrait of Admiral Lord Nelson and Royal Naval traditional toasts in three of these. The fourth is Pusser's Rum company logo and details. These respective cartouches are set on a white ground background. Below this and to the waist of the decanter is a gilt transfer plimsoll line and duck egg blue band, this band bears the legends of the oceans in Latin "Oceanus Antacticus, Mare Septentrio Atlanticum...." etc.  To the base is the legend "Wade First English Porcelain Staffordshire England" atopped with a facsimile of Nelson's signature. The only thing that seems to be missing is the original contents...it wasn't me...have you ever tasted the stuff!!! 8.5"h x 7.75"w (at base) approx, the decanter is in good overall condition with no chips, cracks, crazing or colour losses. There is a slight pull to the gilt transfer plimsoll line which would have occured at time of manufacture.(see pic) PLEASE NOTE there is NO box with this item, also it is heavy hence P&P charge. The item will be well wrapped to avoid damage in transit. I can accept no responsibility for any damage incurred in transit as every effort will be made to prevent this...I'm sorry if this sounds 'snotty'...its not meant to!!! The item will be despatched upon receipt of cleared payment. Thank you for looking at this item...please take a look at my other listings. Good Luck & Happy Bidding!!!
