This is a brand new Wilton Armetale Pewter Coffee Serving Flagon. It was made for serving coffee in historic restaurants--as in Williamsburg, Virginia--which require items which look like pewter yet do not wear or get dents which genuine pewter is prone to do. Please note the plastic inserts in the handle. These absorb the heat and keep your hand from getting burned while you are serving hot coffee to your guests. The Flagon stands approximately 12" high with the lid closed and is approximately six inches wide at the base. Wilton Armetale® metal is a unique, pewter-like non-toxic aluminum-based alloy, making it ideal for cooking and entertaining. It was developed in order to make metal dinner serving ware which looks like pewter and yet meets all the standards of the restaurant trade. It is both very attractive in appearance as well as durable. These items are produced only at a small factory in Columbia, Pennsylvania, the heart of the Pennsylvania Dutch Country, and are handmade. Since each item is handmade no two items will be exactly alike. Armetale also tends to develop a dark patina over time just like genuine pewter. ARMETALE® products are individually hand-crafted from a non-toxic aluminum-based alloy. ARMETALE® metal has been analyzed by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and an independent third party laboratory and conforms to guidelines for the safe handling of food and beverages. At the same time ARMETALE® products have some distinct advantages. Hot foods cooked and served in Wilton Armetale® products stay hot longer. Cold foods and drinks served in Wilton ARMETALE® products stay cold longer. ARMETALE® products are also durable and will not crack, chip or dent under normal usage.
