The pendant is produced by holding a small oval piece of porcelain over a candle flame until it is covered in soot, then very delicately the design is etched through the smoke to produce a very unique drawing, it is then permanently fixed and set into a gilt setting. It will give many years of pleasure to the wearer. It is also a 'one off piece' there will not be another one like it anywhere. Black and white jewellery is very fashionable these days. The pendant is presented in a black velvet box. For the small ammount of £19.00My husband who is the artist has been doing candle-smoked work for about 30 years now and although retired still finds pleasure in doing this work. He used to sell his work at the most prestigious craft fayres, and has sold his work all over the world. Although we do not now do the craft fayres, we still have work stored away, so the pieces we now offer would have been sold at our craft fayres for a sum of £39.00, we would however prefer them to be worn by someone who will appreciate the work that has gone in to them than have them stored away. Hence the price we offer includes postage and packing for UK. Worldwide does incur a charge. .
