ZIRCONIUM METAL - 99% Zirconium and 1% Hafnium - brittle version of High Grade Zirconium. Is easily molded in the liquid state to high accuracy surface detail for parts production. This sample is 2 large pieces and a few smaller pieces for a total weight of 50.8gm. or just under 2 ounces of High Grade Zirconium. This is not like the 99.5% Polycrystalline which is much more ductile and malleable. This 99% is like CAST TUNGSTEN METAL and physically looks the same in grain texture and tight surface molding characteristics. It is used to cast parts at over 1000°C deg. Centigrade which is the melting point of this metal. This dissolves in a mixture of Concentrated Nitric and Hydrofluoric Acid and forms a complex salt that is soluble in aqueous liquids.
